DREAM ANALYSIS
In 1991, having been involved in many aspects of esoteric thinking, a friend asked Valerie to take on the dream analysis page on Prediction. This is a magazine devoted to astrology and the occult, founded in 1936. Her pen name is Sophia Daniel. www.predictionmagazine.com
Valerie has always had an intense interest in what makes people tick; what is behind their words and actions and why they react to symbols such as national flags. She has explored the writings of Jung, Freud, Cayce, Castenada, F.A. Wolfe, amongst others, a considerable asset when interpreting. Through her work with dream and meditation groups, she discovered just how powerful simple symbols can be.
Dreams tend to follow a number of main themes about one’s journey through life. They can be quite boring records of daily life, give warnings or advice or manifest as nightmares or premonitions. Their importance lies in the fact that they are yourself talking to yourself.
Because often the dream needs to express an emotion or conflict, the dream mind searches the memory banks for a previous experience which can illustrate what is essentially an abstract. This is why dreams seem so bizarre with a string of apparently unrelated situations.
Valerie has been on many ‘phone-ins on TV and radio. TV is especially difficult since she has to absorb the details of a dream without any warning of content. She then has quickly to decide on the possible meaning of the symbolism and then present it in a coherent and acceptable manner to the caller.
She often gives talks on dreams. Her web site on dreams is in preparation - www.sofidreams.co.uk
