Valerie has been involved in many fields over a long and active career.
She is a Vice President of the Society of Women Writers & Journalists, writes regularly for Prediction Magazine on Dreams and is involved in politics and local conservation.
She is also a healer and was instrumental, in the early stages, with the setting up of the local Cancer Support Group.
Born, Valerie Wales, in Woodford Green, Essex, she was brought up in North Wales and educated at Pwllheli Grammar School after which she returned to England to attend drama school.
Although trained for the stage and as a teacher she moved into clerical work to make a living. Her working career spanned many areas: clerking, telephone sales (amongst the first), public relations, management consultancy and office management. During this time she also handled payroll, bookkeeping, monthly profit & loss statements and credit control. She is IT and DTP literate.
She has been involved in sport management at national and international levels.
She was married for 35 years to a GP. She has two children and two grandchildren. She is now married to a lawyer.
